Digital version from Manufacture before production start and Essen 2023

Hello Travel Enthusiasts,

We've had quite the adventure dealing with DHL, but I'm thrilled to share that we've finally received the digital preproduction version of Wanderlust! 

What does this mean? We're currently going through every component with a fine-tooth comb, checking for any issues or tweaks needed, and sharing this feedback with our manufacturer, Longpack. Once that's squared away, production will be underway, and we're right on track with our production timeline!

The only small hiccup was a delay in receiving the meeples and wooden components, but the lovely team at Longpack will be bringing them directly to Essen for us.

If you're going to be in Essen this week and want to get a glimpse of the almost-final version of Wanderlust, please stop by our booth in Hall 5 at L115.

🥳Breaking news: Pre-production samples are ready!!! & Spiel23!

Dear travelers,

We hope this update finds you well. We're delighted to share some exciting news about Wanderlust: Discover the World.

We have just been informed that the pre-production paper samples have been printed and are already on their way to us. Wooden tokens will be sent out next Monday (fingers crossed that we will receive them before Essen)! This is a significant milestone in the production process, and we are over the moon with excitement to see how it turns out.

Please note that the Spanish and French rulebooks are currently in the midst of rework as we have received feedback indicating that some corrections need to be made. 

 While we still need to review them carefully and thoroughly once we have the copies in our hands, we can already say at this point that they look amazing so far!

We will share more photos with you very soon when we receive the samples, and perhaps even an unboxing video.

Please let us know your feedback about the components, and let us make Wanderlust the best version it can be!

Spiel23', here we come

Now, for the next exciting bit of news. We will be at Spiel23' from October 5th to 8th! We hope to meet all of you there and finally connect with those who supported our project and believed in us.

The event will be held at Messepl. 1, 45131 Essen, Germany, and you can find us in Hall 5 - Stand 5L115.

E-Proofs complete, especially the rulebooks!!!

Hello, traveler,

We hope you are having a terrific summer so far. As Echo and Julian are off on their honeymoon (Yeah, they just got married! Write down some good wishes for them if you want :)), I (Mahmoud) just wanted to give a quick update to let everyone know where we are at.

We have finalized the e-proofs—YAY! 

This means all the files are prepared for sample printing.

This is a significant step for us, as it helps us learn how the printing files are prepared and provides a boost of motivation, knowing we are getting closer and closer to delivering the game to all of you.

In about 2-3 weeks, our manufacturer in China will send over physical copies for us to review, assuming everything is going smoothly. So let's keep all fingers crossed that we can show you some photos of our game "Wanderlust: Discover the World."soon.

The most time-consuming part after Kickstarter was finalizing the Rulebooks. We had many great helpers who did a terrific job! Now they are available in English, German, Spanish, and French. If you want to see them, visit our website at www.pektis.com, or clickTHIS LINK.

Since there isn't much to report, we thought there were other fun things we did that you might be interested in. We've uploaded some videos on our YouTube channel, where Mahmoud and Echo test how well they know each other's gaming tastes and collections. Go give it a watch.

On top of that, we have decided to stream once a month on Twitch to design together with you. We have been testing it out for a while, and it is loads of fun. In a nutshell, it's a one-hour design session where viewers give us a theme, and we roll for random mechanics to create a  game concept right on the spot. Pledge Manager closes and Heads Up for Credit Cards charges

Hello travelers,

thank you all again for being so responsive in answering our BackerKit survey—even though it may not seem like much as an individual backer, you have no idea how tremendously helpful this has been for us when trying to keep track of all of you!

Thanks, everyone, for your support!

With that being said, the last day to make final changes to your BackerKit survey is July 19th, 2023.

After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for VAT, shipping, and add-on item purchases. You can update your shipping address until we lock addresses for shipping (right before the game fulfills).

If you haven't answered your survey yet, or you fill out your BackerKit survey after July 19th, 2023, we'll still receive your information, but your personal shipment may be delayed, and the shipping fee might be more expensive than listed on the KS campaign page (we will have to ship out the game separately from Germany). 

THANK YOU for your understanding.

With all that being said, your card will be charged around July 21th, 2023. This charge will appear on your bank statement as Pektis Studio GBR. 

Please make sure that you have the correct card information on file. If any issues arise with your payment, you'll receive an email letting you know to correct your payment information.

Making the Files Perfect

Hi, our wonderful travelers!

We hope you're all doing well and enjoying this beautiful summer! We wanted to provide a quick update on the progress of the Wanderlust project. Let's keep it short and concise.

As we wait for the remaining 10 backers to complete their surveys (we have already contacted them and are awaiting their response), we will wait a couple of days and give all of you an update after we close the survey. 

If some of you don't have a credit card, you can contact us, and we will find a solution together.

Meanwhile, we have some good news to share! 

This week, we sent the print files to our manufacturer for revision. This includes all the cards, tokens, wooden components, scoring sheets, and the box. The rulebooks and reference sheets are scheduled for next week. This step is crucial to ensure that the file formats and colors are suitable for mass production. The revision process usually takes 2 to 3 updates to make everything perfect.

While the overall process may seem a bit mundane, we wanted to highlight the design of the deluxe box, which turned out really nice. We can't wait for you to hold it in your hands.
